In keeping with its long history of assisting refugee scholars and scholars at risk, the AAJR is currently involved in initiatives responding to the dire circumstances in Ukraine.

The AAJR is working with Fordham University’s Center for Jewish Studies and the New York Public Library to provide fellowship support to Jewish Studies scholars who have been displaced, deprived of employment, or otherwise placed at risk due to the war. Please see a list of the Ukrainian scholars here.
