Response to Boycott of Israeli Academic Institutions

In response to the adoption by American academic associations of a boycott of Israeli academic institutions, the American Academy for Jewish Research, alongside the American Association of University Professors, the Association of American Universities, and the Association for Jewish Studies, deplores the institution of boycotts or other restrictions on free association in any area of academe as inconsistent with our belief that academic freedom is the bedrock of our enterprise. Scholars should be free to associate with colleagues and institutions without fear of political pressure or reprisal. We urge our colleagues to condemn the boycott as we do.
