David BialeDavid Biale is Emanuel Ringelblum Distinguished Professor of Jewish History at the University of California, Davis. He was educated at UC Berkeley, the Hebrew University and UCLA. He has won the National Jewish Book Award three times as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship and the UC Davis Prize for Undergraduate Teaching and Scholarly Achievement. He lives in Berkeley, CA with his wife, Rachel Biale, the author of Women and Jewish Law. His son, Noam, is an attorney in New York and his daughter Tali is a teacher living in Oakland, CA. He has two grand-daughters.
